A leading professional services firm based in London is seeking an experienced in-house solicitor to provide legal, compliance, and risk management support across its various business units, acting as legal lead. This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll have the chance to shape the in-house legal team and collaborate closely with senior management on compliance and legal matters with the scope to getting involved in setting elements of the firm\’s strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the firm’s legal and compliance function, advising senior management on regulatory and contractual matters.
- Oversee FCA compliance, including certifications and reporting.
- Review and manage engagement letters, NDAs, contracts, and client classifications.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on risk management, data protection, and professional ethics.
- Develop internal compliance policies and training programmes.
- Participate in board and senior management meetings, supporting governance and decision-making.
- Shape the role and build a legal team, with scope to expand responsibilities over time.
