What’s in it for you?

If you’re looking for a Senior Manager role where you can have genuine influence, this is an opportunity to take a leading position within a growing specialist trusts and estates practice.

You’ll take ownership of an established portfolio, working closely with an experienced Partner on complex trusts, estates and private client matters. With increasing demand for specialist trusts advice across the wider business, you’ll also play an important role in developing the offering, strengthening client relationships and supporting its continued growth.

  • Take ownership of an established portfolio from day one – no need to build a client base from scratch
  • Work directly with Partner-level leadership on technically complex advisory matters
  • Play an influential role in the continued development of a growing trusts and estates offering
  • Contribute to new client opportunities and relationships across the wider firm
  • Provide technical leadership and support the development of more junior members of the team
  • Hybrid working – 3 days per week in the office

Additional benefits

  • Salary of £75,000 – £85,000
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus Christmas closure
  • Private medical insurance, life assurance and income protection
  • Flexible wellbeing and lifestyle benefits

Why this business?

This is an established multidisciplinary professional services firm with a highly regarded private client practice, advising high-net-worth individuals, trustees, executors and family wealth structures.

The trusts and estates offering is benefiting from increasing demand and referrals from across the wider business, creating a strong pipeline of specialist work. The breadth of the firm also gives the team access to expertise across complementary areas when supporting more complex client matters.

This is an opportunity to take a senior position within that growth. Alongside responsibility for an established portfolio, you’ll work closely with senior leadership on complex client matters, new opportunities and relationships across the wider firm, while helping shape the continued development of the trusts and estates offering.

What you’ll be doing

  • Take ownership of a portfolio focused predominantly on complex UK trusts, estates and high-net-worth individuals
  • Lead the delivery of compliance and specialist advisory work across trusts and estates, including trust accounts, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and wider private client matters
  • Act as a senior technical contact for trustees, executors, beneficiaries and professional advisers
  • Work closely with Partners and Directors on complex advisory matters and new client opportunities
  • Develop trusted client relationships, identifying opportunities to broaden relationships and introduce relevant expertise from across the wider business
  • Review complex work and provide technical guidance to colleagues
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the team, helping strengthen capability across the practice
  • Contribute ideas and expertise to improve processes, efficiency and the continued development of the trusts and estates offering

What you’ll bring

  • CTA, STEP or another relevant professional qualification
  • Strong technical expertise across UK trusts and estates, including trust accounts preparation
  • Broad private client tax knowledge, including inheritance tax and capital gains tax
  • Significant experience delivering complex advisory work alongside trusts and estates compliance
  • Ideally, exposure to non-UK resident trusts or internationally based high-net-worth individuals, although particularly deep technical trusts experience will also be considered
  • A strong track record of managing client portfolios and developing trusted relationships with clients and professional advisers
  • Experience reviewing complex work and developing more junior colleagues
  • The commercial judgement and confidence to work effectively with senior stakeholders and contribute to the continued growth of the practice

Who this suits

You’re an experienced trusts and estates professional who has developed strong technical expertise and now wants greater ownership and influence without moving away from the specialist work you enjoy.

You may already be operating at Senior Manager level, or be an experienced Manager ready for a broader role. You’ll want to remain close to complex trusts and estates matters while taking greater responsibility for client relationships, developing colleagues and helping shape the direction of a specialist practice.
