This is a new role in the organisation, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the role and the Commercial Finance function. When necessary, this role will also deputise for the Finance Director on all commercial and strategic matters.

This Commercial Finance Manager position plays a critical role in driving financial insight, supporting strategic decision-making and improving operational and commercial outcomes. Key responsibilities will include providing robust financial analysis and decision support to drive trading performance and inform strategic initiatives across the business. You will analyse key financial and operational metrics such as sales, gross margin, profitability and cost structures, identifying trends, risks and opportunities. The role will also involve developing financial models to support investment decisions, capital allocation and new business initiatives, alongside ownership of KPI development, performance tracking and variance analysis with clear, actionable recommendations.

You will play a leading role in cost control and efficiency programmes, ensuring delivery against targets and holding stakeholders accountable for outcomes. The Commercial Finance Manager role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, acting as a key interface between Finance, Operations, IT and Commercial teams. There is also responsibility for mentoring junior team members, building capability in financial modelling, analysis and storytelling.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a proven track record in commercial finance and business partnering within a retail, grocery or FMCG environment.
