About

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to join a fast‑growing, international software consultancy in a newly created Revenue Control Accountant position. This role sits at the heart of the finance function and will play a key role in strengthening revenue processes, improving working capital performance and supporting the wider financial control environment. Working closely with the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will take ownership of the end‑to‑end revenue control cycle across billing, debtor management and revenue accounting support, while acting as the primary finance contact for all revenue‑related audit activity. This is a highly visible role suited to a qualified accountant with strong post‑qualified experience and a proactive, detail‑oriented approach. The position offers broad exposure across finance, operations and commercial teams, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys improving processes, driving accountability and operating within a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the monthly billing cycle, ensuring the integrity of project and billing data.
  • Managing revenue reconciliations and supporting the correct accounting treatment of accrued and deferred income under FRS 102.
  • Taking ownership of accounts receivable discipline, debtor reporting and collections activity, with a focus on improving cash conversion and reducing invoice delays.
  • Leading the preparation of revenue‑related audit support, coordinating audit requests and maintaining clear audit trails across contracts, invoicing and cash collection.
  • Supporting month‑end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations and broader financial control initiatives as required.

This is an opportunity for a high‑potential candidate to make a name for themselves in the business, with the intention that the new hire steps up to become Financial Controller for the business in c. 2‑3 years.

Skills

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge alongside excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience within professional services, consulting or project‑based environments would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to systems such as Kantata and Sage.
