Walker Hamill is a proven environment in which to build your career in recruitment and executive search. Now in our fourth decade, we have developed a tried and tested graduate training scheme. Over the space of 36 months, we will teach you all aspects of how to be an Executive Search Consultant and all about the private equity industry that we serve.
Headquartered in London and with offices in continental Europe, our Private Equity team is the longest standing and most experienced in Europe, with a track record spanning four decades and thousands of successfully completed searches. We are proven experts across all levels of investment team hires – Associate, Principal and Partner – and also have extensive experience of hiring into investor relations, portfolio/value enhancement and fund finance and accounting teams. Our client base is particularly diverse and covers all types of GP and LP. We are active across Europe, and our team has fluency in most major European languages.
We commit significant resource to extensive mapping of our target candidate pools and have developed a rigorous, search-based approach to all of our work, regardless of the level of candidate sought. We are seeking a relatively recent graduate to join our London based team to train as a Consultant. You may have completed office-based internships, or a prior role in sales, or finance. Initially joining as an Associate, you will be taught how to find, evaluate and engage with various candidate profiles, including those from private equity, investment banking/M&A, strategy consulting and MBAs from leading business schools.
Skills
- You will need to be insatiably curious and interested in meeting people at all levels, with natural ‘EQ’.
- Other key attributes include being really well organised, with an eye for detail, a quick learner, a natural communicator, tenacious, optimistic and highly self-motivated.
- Additional fluency in Italian, French, German, or a Nordic language is always useful – but by no means essential.
We will build your knowledge via a mixture of formal and informal training and you’ll also be offered the opportunity to spend some time in our Frankfurt office. Promotions typically take place each year on your journey to becoming an experienced Consultant and remuneration is almost certainly ‘best in class’. There’s no requirement for prior knowledge of private equity or finance – we will teach you all you need to know. In fact, most of our graduates have pursued Arts or Social Sciences degrees – our work is qualitative, more than quantitative.
