Our client is a leading European Energy group with c€30bn of assets generating in excess of €35bn of revenue. Established in 2015 as the strategic platform for expanding the Group into the UK and Ireland energy markets, it has made several acquisitions and grown to be one of the largest independent generators in the UK and Ireland, with an asset base that covers multiple technologies and a range of revenue streams. The UK & Ireland entities generate approximately €3.5bn revenue and are seen as significant growth areas for the group.

Description

This Associate role will provide strategic, commercial, financial and market analysis across the operational business, business development projects and M&A activities as required. Specific examples might include the preparation of high-quality presentations to enable senior management and board decision-making, building financial models for economic appraisals of different market or commercial scenarios, evaluating the financial and commercial impact of changes to the commodity and energy markets, or supporting the corporate finance team in M&A and business development activities.

Skills

The successful candidate for this Commercial Associate, Energy M&A role will have a strong academic profile, including an accountancy qualification gained in an international accounting firm or the CFA qualification from an investment bank. Experience in the Energy/Renewables/Infrastructure/Commodities sectors is desirable but not necessary; an interest in the sector is essential. You will bring a proactive and commercially astute approach, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations.
