Our client, a leading venture capital firm based in central London, is looking for a Fund Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, responsible for managing the quarterly reporting and general fund operations. This role is a 6 months paternity cover to start early March 2026.
The duties and responsibilities for this Temporary Fund & Portfolio Accountant role include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to fund accounting operations, including the preparation and calculation of financial and operating metrics.
- Support quarterly reporting processes and review annual tax filings where applicable.
- Ensure financial regulatory reporting complies with relevant local and international frameworks, fund LPAs, and accounting standards.
- Act as a point of contact for external stakeholders, including auditors, legal advisers, banks, and fund administrators.
- Support the preparation of capital calls and distributions, including drafting and issuing related investor communications.
- Monitor fund cash positions and liquidity.
- Produce valuation and accounting reports, contributing to portfolio monitoring and investment valuations.
- Deliver ad hoc analysis and reporting for senior leadership.
The skills and experience required for this Temporary Fund & Portfolio Accountant role include, but are not limited to:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) ideally from Big 4.
- Relevant experience in fund accounting.
- High proficiency in Excel.
- Experience working in Venture Capital is desirable.
- Excellent communicator, experience of working with third parties.
- Strong attention to detail.
