Our client is a family‑owned business, operating a lean, decentralised HQ in central London, and employing around 400 people across several continents, combining manufacturing and commercial trading operations. The group enjoys a market‑leading position in its specialist field and has a track record of long‑term growth, generating a strong profit margin from current revenues of nearly £200m.

This newly created position is a broad, high‑impact role that will act as a trusted assistant to both the CFO and CEO, working at the heart of this privately owned, commercially complex business. The role will suit an individual who is able to operate effectively in ambiguity, enjoys being a problem‑solver, and is comfortable being a quiet force behind the senior leadership team. This position does not fit neatly into a traditional organisation chart, combining elements of business analyst, chief of staff, and commercial adviser, requiring a strong mix of judgement, discretion and intellectual horsepower.

Description: This is a hands‑on role, with genuine exposure to decision‑making and the opportunity to influence outcomes through high‑quality analysis and advice. Reporting to the CFO, and with constant interaction with the CEO, you will provide analytical, commercial and organisational support across a wide range of strategic and operational matters.

  • Act as trusted right‑hand support to the CFO and CEO on ad hoc and strategic initiatives using discretion, pragmatism and sound commercial judgement to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Prepare detailed analysis to support projects spanning all aspects of commercial and operational activity, including corporate communications and marketing.
  • Conduct in‑depth financial analysis on complex or sensitive issues as required.
  • Review, draft and manage a wide range of documentation, including commercial agreements – legal, shareholder, marketing, supply chain, etc.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders as well as legal and financial advisers, owning and maintaining secure, accurate records of all legal and corporate documentation.
  • Support the maintenance of statutory company records, including shareholder and director information.
  • Assist with budgeting processes across multiple entities within the group.

Requirements: You will likely bring:

  • Significant experience in a senior commercial, financial or legal setting, with a strong preference for a recognised accounting qualification.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to quickly get to the heart of complex issues.
  • Confidence reviewing and interpreting commercial and legal documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • High levels of discretion and integrity; this role sits close to sensitive information.
  • A calm, pragmatic approach to problem‑solving.
  • Comfort operating without a rigid job description, and an appetite to be genuinely useful to add value to the business.
  • Comfortable operating at director level; no formal line‑management responsibility initially.

Additional Information: To apply, please use the application button. Due to the expected volume of applications, we will only respond to candidates whose experience matches the requirements. If you do not hear from us within ten days, please assume you have not been successful on this occasion.
