Walker Group provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland. Due to ongoing demand, we have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Glasgow as a Painter.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning and priming products
- Mix paint and other finishing materials according to specifications
- Apply paint or coatings to products
- Ensure proper handling and storage of paints, chemicals & supplies
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, including cleaning tools and equipment
- Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring they meet required standards
- Assist with stock control, booking materials to and from the paint shop
- Follow health & safety guidelines
- Assist with general maintenance of paint shop equipment and machinery
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a painter within an aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of surface preparation and coating application techniques
- Ability to read and follow detailed engineering documentation
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles (desirable)
Skills & Behaviours:
- Good communication & teamwork skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive with good time management
- Disciplined in maintaining schedules and documentation as required
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift and move materials and stand for extended periods
