The Impact You Will Have
Walker & Dunlop is seeking a talented Compliance Analyst to report directly to the General Counsel, EMEA, supporting the continued growth of our London-based commercial real estate capital markets and property sales business across Europe. This is a unique opportunity to help develop and implement Walker & Dunlop’s compliance framework across the UK and EU. You will work closely with brokers and advisory teams to manage regulatory risk, support compliant deal execution, and help embed a strong culture of compliance throughout the business.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support compliance with applicable UK and EU regulatory requirements, including AML frameworks, FCA rules, MiFID II, and UK/EU GDPR and privacy laws.
- Assist with regulatory applications, filings, and ongoing compliance obligations across relevant jurisdictions.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct client and related-party due diligence (KYC), including sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening, and support ongoing monitoring of clients and transactions.
- Assist with corporate governance matters and statutory filings for legal entities.
- Support the design and delivery of compliance training, awareness initiatives, and internal communications to reinforce regulatory obligations and best practices.
- Perform regulatory horizon scanning and monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the business.
- Document and track compliance issues, breaches, and remediation efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm local time, Monday through Friday, with the option to work remotely for up to one of those days.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant field such as Law, Finance, Business, or Compliance.
- 3+ years of compliance experience within commercial real estate finance, capital markets, or the broader financial services industry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements in a practical business context.
- Proficiency in using compliance systems, screening tools, and internal databases to conduct due diligence and monitor regulatory risk.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex regulatory matters to non-legal stakeholders.
- High standards of integrity, sound judgment, and the confidence to challenge where appropriate.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate work.
- Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of UK and EU regulatory frameworks, with particular expertise in AML/KYC requirements and related controls.
