Reporting to the Group External Reporting Manager, this role represents a fantastic opportunity to cultivate a high-profile position within the Group Finance function and lay the groundwork for a future career with many potential pathways across the organisation. At its core, this is a technical accounting role. The candidate will be expected to partner with business units and other teams in Group Finance across a range of transactions and contractual scenarios.
Key Responsibilities

- Owning the audit relationship for the entities that you prepare financial statements for.
- Performing the impairment testing for investments held by the Group’s main intermediate holding entities.
- Preparing accounting memos to a high (auditable) standard based on meticulous research of the relevant IFRS requirements and your interpretation of the relevant facts and circumstances (often involving the review of complex legal agreements and the exercise of judgement).
- Owning discrete sections of the Group’s interim and annual consolidated financial statements.
- Providing ad hoc training to business units on a range of accounting topics.
- Assisting the External Reporting Manager on the quarterly consolidated financial statements prepared for the Group’s lenders.
- Updating the Group’s accounting policies when required.
- Staying on top of IFRS developments and briefing the Group Controller periodically.
Successful Applicant
- Qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA).
- Exposure to a complex, international business, whether gained through audit or working in a financial reporting function (at the Group, divisional or business unit level).
- Audit or preparation of IFRS financial statements.
- Highly proficient in preparing financial statements under IFRS and exposure to FRS 101, 102 and the UK Companies Act.
- Exposure to multicurrency consolidations.
- Writing memos across a range of accounting topics preferable (not essential, although you will need to demonstrate an aptitude for being able to do so).
- Presenting / providing training to other professionals (not necessarily on accounting topics).
- Exposure to LLMs and other AI tools; demonstrable willingness to use them to enhance productivity.
- Experience of reporting tools and systems; solid grasp of the benefits of automation.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
