The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.

This role will be reporting to the Finance Manager and will be a key member of the Finance Team. The main purpose of the role is to assist with the production of monthly management accounts that deliver a set of robust and timely financial results each month. It will also focus on successful completion of the annual audit and proactive budgeting process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts in a timely manner, including posting of a range of journal entries.
  • Review of the monthly results and variance analysis vs KPIs and budget.
  • Assist with preparation of internal reports and finance analysis collaborating with colleagues in a cross‑functional environment.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis ensuring high quality supporting evidence.
  • Act as an effective Business Partner supporting departments across the designated area of responsibility.
  • Assist in preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Play an active role in preparation of information for the annual audit and Statutory Financial Statements.
  • Assist with projects to support the development of the business such as operational improvements and system changes.
  • Being involved in a collaborative and supportive team environment, ensuring good internal communication.
  • Executing additional tasks to meet changing business needs and departmental objectives.

Successful Applicant

  • Newly or Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA etc.).
  • 2‑3 years’ experience in a month‑end focused position.
  • Multi‑site experience, particularly in the retail sector is an advantage.
  • Desire to grow and learn new skills taking ownership of their area of responsibility.
  • High level of spreadsheet ability essential for data manipulation (sumifs, lookups, pivot tables).
  • Ability to work to tight timescales whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A team player, with good communication skills and the confidence & credibility to interact with colleagues at all levels.
