Walker Cole International are partnered with a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation with the appointment of a Head of Supply Chain to take overall leadership of Supply Chain at one of their UK manufacturing sites. This is a senior leadership appointment with significant influence across the site and wider organisation. The successful individual will be responsible for ensuring the site can deliver reliable product supply while balancing service, inventory, working capital, capacity, cost and operational performance.

The role will lead the development and execution of the site's Supply Chain strategy, whilst driving greater maturity, visibility and performance across the function. The scope will include:

  • Overall leadership of the site's Supply Chain function
  • Production, Material and Supply Planning
  • S&OP and strategic planning
  • Capacity planning and constraint management
  • Inventory and working capital optimisation
  • Warehouse and material flow
  • Supply risk and business continuity
  • Supply Chain governance, processes and performance management
  • Master data and planning systems
  • Product launches, transfers and manufacturing change
  • Continuous improvement and Supply Chain transformation
  • GMP / regulatory compliance
  • Leadership, coaching and development of the Supply Chain organisation
  • Close partnership with Site Leadership, Operations, Quality, Finance and Global Supply Chain

We're looking for a senior Supply Chain leader who can operate at both strategic and operational level. You'll ideally have:

  • Significant Supply Chain leadership experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Experience leading an end-to-end Supply Chain function within a manufacturing site
  • Strong knowledge of S&OP, production planning, material planning and capacity management
  • Proven experience improving inventory, working capital and service performance
  • Experience managing supply risk within a regulated manufacturing environment
  • A strong track record of leading teams and developing organisational capability
  • Experience delivering significant Supply Chain transformation / continuous improvement
  • Strong commercial and financial understanding
  • The credibility to influence senior stakeholders across a complex, matrix organisation
