Walker Cole International is supporting a leading pharmaceutical organisation in the recruitment of an Associate Director/Director Medical Affairs. This role will help develop, implement, and lead the medical affairs strategy for my client's portfolio of products.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for timely progression for project activities, risk mitigation as well as budget management.
  • The role includes thorough project management and coordination for all aspects and phases of the development of my client's portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic and operational direction of the medical affairs projects, thoroughly monitor implementation, rules and regulations and budget compliance.
  • Serve as the point of contact, in leading the Medical Affairs function internally and representing the company externally in Medical/ Patient Institutions and Healthcare Authorities.
  • Lead the Medical Governance for the team and provide critical support in ensuring implementation, monitoring and enforcement of ethical standards.
  • Ultimately responsible for ensuring compliance with clinical trial standards within the team and, in partnership with the Sales and Marketing Leads, compliance with relevant Codes of Practice.
  • Leverage the Medical Affairs function by ensuring commercially focused Medical input into strategic market development including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), and ongoing market support, whilst balancing the highest ethical standards in corporate medical governance.
  • Provide consolidated product or disease input into Global Clinical Development strategies for Phase II through IV clinical plans to ensure affiliate/ partner understanding of regulators / payors requirements in Key Area Markets; ensure efficient and effective study conduct locally.

Experience Required

  • Significant experience in Pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Medical or Pharmacy Degree.
  • Neurology disease/CNS expertise preferred.
  • Previous regional/ above country level experience.
  • Robust understanding of promotional codes of practice and regulations.
