Walker Cole International is supporting a leading pharmaceutical organisation in the recruitment of an Associate Director/Director Medical Affairs. This role will help develop, implement, and lead the medical affairs strategy for my client's portfolio of products.

The Role

You will be responsible for timely progression for project activities, risk mitigation as well as budget management. The role includes thorough project management and coordination for all aspects and phases of the development of my client's portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic and operational direction of the medical affairs projects, thoroughly monitor implementation, rules and regulations and budget compliance.
  • Serve as the point of contact, in leading the Medical Affairs function internally and representing the company externally in Medical/ Patient Institutions and Healthcare Authorities.
  • Lead the Medical Governance for the team and provide critical support in ensuring implementation, monitoring and enforcement of ethical standards.
  • Ultimately responsible for ensuring compliance with clinical trial standards within the team and, in partnership with the Sales and Marketing Leads, compliance with relevant Codes of Practice.
  • Leverage the Medical Affairs function by ensuring commercially focused Medical input into strategic market development including Mergers to ensure efficient and effective study conduct locally.

Experience Required

  • Significant experience in Pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Medical or Pharmacy Degree.
  • Neurology disease/CNS expertise preferred.
  • Previous regional/above country level experience.
  • Robust understanding of promotional codes of practice and regulations.
