Walker Cole International is exclusively supporting a growing pharmaceutical organisation in Wales in the search for an Operations Shift Leader.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the business during an exciting phase of growth, managing supervisors and teams across a production line while integrating operations across multiple shifts and driving output, productivity and quality.
Your responsibilities as the Operations Shift Leader will include
- Explaining the local action plan to team members, connecting day-to-day activity to the broader business strategy, and motivating people to achieve local business goals.
- Overseeing an operational area including dispensing raw materials accurately in line with GMP discipline to satisfy manufacturing schedules.
- Developing production plans, work schedules and resourcing to achieve agreed commitments, and reconciling materials used within specific limits, investigating any variations.
- Identifying shortcomings in existing manufacturing processes and delivering improvements to methods, procedures and packaging processes.
- Setting performance objectives, coaching and developing team capability, and leading designated projects from planning through to closure within agreed timescales and budgets.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following
- Substantial general work experience with comprehensive, fully competent expertise managing in a factory environment, ideally within pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging.
- Thorough knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Health & Safety requirements; Lean Six Sigma experience advantageous.
- Experience planning and managing resources to deliver objectives set by senior management.
- Strong track record in production practice, workflow management and multi-line operations coordination, with the ability to work independently and provide guidance to others.
- An engaging leadership style with a focus on driving accountability, results and continuous improvement, while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
