We are seeking a Production Manager / Head of Compounding Operations to lead an MHRA-licensed aseptic compounding unit. This is a senior operational leadership role with full accountability for production, compliance, performance, and team development. You will act as the named Production Manager on the MHRA MS Licence, ensuring products are manufactured and stored in accordance with GMP and regulatory requirements for human use. You will also lead a team of 5–6 employees, embedding strong aseptic culture, accountability and performance standards.

The Role

  • Oversee end-to-end compounding operations, driving:
  • GMP-compliant production within an aseptic environment
  • Environmental monitoring, validation, and equipment qualification
  • Manufacturing schedule, capacity and S&OP alignment
  • Budget control, cost optimisation and waste reduction
  • Deviation management, investigations and CAPA
  • Audit readiness and hosting MHRA and client inspections
  • Continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure products are produced and stored in line with GMP and approved documentation
  • Maintain qualification of premises, equipment and processes
  • Oversee process validation and environmental controls
  • Approve production documentation and ensure accurate batch records
  • Drive Lean principles, operational efficiencies and cost savings
  • Support commercial growth, tenders and new business initiatives
  • Contribute to Group EBITDA performance

About You

We are looking for a proven operational leader with:

  • 5–10+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare manufacturing
  • Strong background in aseptic processing or pharmacy compounding
  • Experience hosting regulatory audits and inspections
  • Experience managing deviations, investigations and CAPA
  • Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary production teams
  • Budget management and cost optimisation experience
  • Previously named Production Manager on an MHRA Manufacturing Licence (MS / MIA / MIA(IMP))

Desirable

  • Experience with S&OP and production capacity planning
  • Lean / Six Sigma or operational excellence training
