Junior Account Executive / Social Media Executive

Bournemouth, South Coast Full-time (37.5hrs) - Hybrid Agency / Marketing experience is ideal, but not necessary.

We’re Walker, an independent creative agency by the sea, making bold, effective work for brands people know, love, buy, share and talk about.

Our social team is growing, and we’re looking for a Junior Account Executive / Social Media Executive to jump in with us.

This is a role for someone who properly lives in the feed.

Someone who gets why a trend is funny before it has been over-explained.

Someone who understands Gen Z and Millennial culture, knows when a brand is trying too hard, and can turn a cultural moment into something smart, useful and commercially sharp.

You’ll work across brilliant national and internationally recognised FMCG brands, helping the team to create social work that wins awards, breaks records and proves organic content can do much more than fill a calendar.

We’re independent, fast-moving and proudly South Coast.

No unnecessary red tape.

No big egos.

Just a team of thinkers, doers and makers creating bold ideas, backed by solid insight.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll support the day-to-day running, planning and creation of social content across some of our fastest-growing client accounts.

That means spotting trends, shaping ideas, writing captions, building content plans, briefing creatives and creators, keeping communities warm, tracking performance and making sure every post has a reason to exist.

You’ll help us

  • Spot emerging social trends, formats, memes, behaviours and cultural moments.
  • Help turn those trends into ideas that make sense for FMCG brands and real business goals.
  • Support social strategy, content planning and always-on delivery.
  • Support with captions, hooks, post copy, community responses and content ideas in different brand voices.
  • Help brief designers, videographers, creators and internal teams.
  • Support with building content calendars that balance culture, creativity, product moments and brand priorities.
  • Support the strategy team and pull learnings from performance so the next round of work gets sharper.
  • Stay close to what audiences are watching, sharing, rejecting, remixing and obsessing over.
  • Bring ideas to the table whenever you spot something with potential.
  • Learn the ropes with paid social and media buying with the aim to support the client team down the line.

Who you are

You’re culturally switched on, curious and social-first.

You probably send Tik Toks before you send articles.

You know the comments are often where the real insight lives.

You can explain why a creator works for a brand, why a sound is taking off, or why a tiny online behaviour says something bigger about people.

But you’re not just trend-led. You want to learn how great social ideas connect to brand strategy, audience insight, commercial objectives and long-term brand building.

You’re organised enough to keep things moving, confident enough to share your point of view, and humble enough to learn from the people around you.

What we’re looking for

Ideally, you’ll have

  • A strong understanding of Tik Tok, Meta, and emerging social platforms.
  • A genuine interest in Gen Z and Millennial consumer culture.
  • Good writing skills and an instinct for tone of voice.
  • Experience supporting content calendars, scheduling, reporting or community management would be ideal.
  • An eye for what makes content feel native to each platform.
  • The ability to move quickly without losing the detail.
  • Confidence sharing ideas, references, trends and opinions.
  • A love of FMCG, food, drink, lifestyle, entertainment, creator culture or internet behaviour.
  • A good sense of humour, a good sense of taste and a low tolerance for boring brand content.

Bonus points for agency experience, basic editing or filming skills, social reporting tools, or a creator mindset.

  • Discretionary annual bonus, based on company and individual performance.
  • Employer pension contribution, if you opt in.
