We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SENDCO and Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare and early childhood education, with the ability to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.

Duties

  • Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 1-4 years in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning through play, ensuring that each child's individual needs are met.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to support their development.
  • Complete SEND paperwork and referrals as and when required to support children and meet their individual needs.
  • Work alongside other professionals to make individual plans for children.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
  • Manage daily routines within the nursery, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all children.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in childcare and early education to inspire both children and fellow practitioners.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery's offerings and contribute positively to the overall learning experience.

Experience

  • Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential.
  • Experience of working with children with SEND and completing paperwork required.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with nursery settings and an understanding of the EYFS framework is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development is crucial.
  • A Level 3 qualification and a DBS is required for this position.
