Responsibilities
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Register sales on assigned cash register and provide courteous, fair, friendly, efficient checkout service.
- Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, including obtaining patient and drug information and processing prescriptions using pharmacy systems.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving customer issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Recommend items for sale, trade‑ups and/or companion items, and promote additional products.
- Process customer purchases, collect cash, give change, handle voids, returns, and exchanges, and take customers to the OTC aisle when possible.
- Keep counters, shelves, and displays clean, well merchandised, and properly stocked; perform inventory duties as directed.
- Assist pharmacy personnel with prescription preparation, medication verification, and workflow management.
- Report prescription errors promptly to the pharmacist and adhere to all Walgreens policies and the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Maintain compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products and other company policies.
- Support general store operations such as photo services, pick‑up responsibilities, and general maintenance.
- Training & Development
- Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated state‑required program.
- Attend required training programs and maintain continuing education credits in healthcare and pharmacy.
- Basic Qualifications
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of six months experience in a retail environment.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
- Computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control.
- PTCB certification is a plus.
