$17.00/hr – $20.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.
- Support pharmacy inventory management activities: receiving, counting, ordering, facilitating returns.
- Champion On‑Shelf Availability: receive, count, price, handle returns, and manage all in‑store inventory processes; validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.
- Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications that impact accuracy of front end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.
- Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques; file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
- In designated stores, open and close the store in the absence of store management, including start‑ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring floor and stock room readiness.
- Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices with all team members; promote Walgreens service traits such as proactive help, need identification, and satisfaction focus.
- Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.
- Scan in all deliveries while the vendor is in the store; focus on One Box receiving, take appropriate action marking delivery as received or open tickets as needed.
- Under the supervision of the pharmacist‑in‑charge, verify all pharmacy shipments and complete or verify postings for all pharmacy warehouse orders, ABC prescription and OTC orders, secondary vendor orders, flu and dropship orders; perform tote audits and report shortages or damage.
- Complete On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process, including warehouse and direct store delivery (DSD) for planogrammed departments; execute disposals, call‑ins, and vendor returns before expiration; complete scan‑outs on all subscribed departments and pharmacy scan‑outs.
- Complete pharmacy inventory activities such as recalls, vendor returns, non‑controlled, and damaged salvage returns; facilitate excess inventory returns or inter‑store transfers where applicable; verify posting of all pharmacy/prescription claims.
- Execute all pricing activities: price changes, markdowns, markdown deletes; basic department pricing, daily price changes, correct signage, and timely regulatory pricing tasks.
- Support front end and pharmacy ordering by ordering expense items; monitor pharmacy manual orders to identify excess orders; maintain consigned inventory and order as required.
- Ensure all designated pull & quarantine item on‑hands are updated and placed in the designated holding area.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts, on‑hand quantities for basic departments, stockroom, overstock locations; complete pharmacy smart counts.
- Ensure store inventory compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
- Assist in maintaining inventory records: receiving and posting of all products; organize files; retain invoices/receipts/return authorizations as necessary.
- Help prepare for physical inventory; support physical inventory day activities, including preparing sales floor, stockroom, and pharmacy; audit the third‑party team on inventory day.
- Keep all counters and shelves clean and well merchandised.
- Be knowledgeable of all store systems and equipment.
- Assist and coach store team on all package delivery activities; complete daily inventory functions and package returns; support Pickup Program execution.
- When serving as the leader on duty, register all related sales on assigned POS; record scanning errors, price verifications, items absent, price modifications, voids; complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to safe, provide change.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete any additional activities and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
- Attend company‑based trainings for continuous development; complete all e‑learning modules including safety requirements.
- Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.
Communications
- Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members by coaching and developing other capabilities with inventory systems; when serving as the leader on duty, communicate assigned tasks to team members and report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
Basic Qualifications
- Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- “Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi‑task and manage execution.
- Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
