Base pay range

$17.00/hr – $20.00/hr

Responsibilities

  • Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and SOPs for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.
  • Support pharmacy inventory management activities: receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.
  • Champion On‑Shelf Availability and oversee receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and planogram accuracy.
  • Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications to ensure accurate front end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.
  • Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, file claims for overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
  • Open and close the store in the absence of management, including all required system start‑ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring floor and stock room readiness.

Customer Experience

  • Engage customers by greeting and offering assistance with products and services; resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.

Operations

  • Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.
  • Scan deliveries while vendors are still in the store; take appropriate action marking delivery as received, contacting vendor for past undelivered receipts, and opening tickets as needed.
  • Under pharmacist supervision, verify pharmacy shipments and complete postings of all pharmacy warehouse orders, daily ABC prescription and OTC orders, secondary vendor orders, and flu and dropship orders.
  • Complete On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process: warehouse and DSD for planogrammed departments, disposals, call‑ins, vendor returns before expiration, scan outs, and returns on all subscribed departments.
  • Under pharmacist supervision, complete pharmacy inventory activities, including recalls, vendor returns, non‑controlled and damaged salvage returns, excess inventory returns, and interstore transfers.
  • Complete pricing activities: price changes, markdowns, and markdown deletes; responsible for basic department pricing, daily price changes, accurate pricing with correct signage, and timely completion of additional regulatory pricing tasks.
  • Support front end and pharmacy ordering, monitor manual orders, maintain consigned inventory, and order as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure on‑hand quantity accuracy for all departments, stockroom, overstock locations, and pharmacy smart counts.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
  • Assist in preparation for physical inventory and support physical inventory day activities, including floor, stockroom, and pharmacy preparation.
  • Support keeping all counters and shelves clean and merchandised; assist and coach store team on package delivery activities and support Pickup Program.
  • In designated stores, register all related sales on assigned POS, complete product returns, order voids, refunds, cash drops to safe, and provide change as requested.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful coworker relationships; complete any additional activities assigned.

Training & Personal Development

  • Attend company‑based trainings and complete all e‑learning modules, including safety training requirements.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.

Communications

  • Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members; coach and develop capabilities with inventory systems.
  • Communicate assigned tasks to team members and report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Basic Qualifications

  • Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
  • “Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi‑task and manage execution.
  • Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
