We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant with a deep understanding of special educational needs. Join the ‘Place Where Brilliance Begins’, a vibrant, happy and nurturing school located in the village of Walgrave. This is a rewarding role, working with inspiring pupils, in a close-knit team of talented and ambitious staff.
Responsible to: Headteacher, SENDCo
Hours: 30 hours per week, term time only. (8.45am - 3.15pm with half an hour lunch break)
Salary: Grade E salary point 4-5. Salary pro rata based on full time equivalent salary £25,185 - £25,583
Contract: Named child
Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 with pupils and as part of a small team to meet daily pupil needs.
- Support included in-class activities and targeted interventions to support pupils with a range of needs.
- Adapt practice to enable children to participate in everyday school life and engage with learning.
- Communicate effectively with parents, outside agencies and professionals as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience of working with children with a range of special education needs.
- Committed to the role and able to work with children who have varied needs.
- Ability to build relationships with pupils and be flexible to support their specific needs.
- Willingness to undergo training from outside agencies to support areas of need.
