Live-in Carer (Experienced)

At Walfinch East Barnet, we believe in empowering individuals to live fulfilling lives within the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Live-in Carers who are fluent in Eastern European Languages to provide essential support, companionship, and assistance with daily living for clients. This is a profoundly rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference, becoming an integral part of someone's daily routine and ensuring they receive person-centred care in their native language. We are specifically looking for a Russian, Hungarian or Polish-speaking professionals to meet our client's unique communication needs.

Please note: Applicants must possess full-time permission to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available for this position.

About the role

Key Responsibilities:

Eastern European Language speaker only

  • Providing personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, grooming).

  • Assisting with mobility and transfers, including the use of mobility aids if required.

  • Administering or prompting medication as directed.

  • Preparing meals and supporting with feeding where necessary.

  • Housekeeping duties include cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment.

  • Companionship – engaging in conversation, hobbies, and social activities.

  • Supporting with shopping, appointments, and outings.

  • Monitoring and reporting any changes in health or well-being to family members or healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in care (professional or personal) preferred but not always essential.

  • Kind, patient, and empathetic nature.

  • Good communication skills and ability to follow care plans.

  • Flexibility and reliability.

  • Willingness to live in the client’s home, providing support as required.

  • Basic cooking and housekeeping skills.
