Responsibilities

  • Working under supervision you will carry out repairs to our gas network mains and services, attend emergencies and complete all new customer connections work.
  • You will also support the delivery of Replacement and Capital programmes to ensure we can meet future gas demand.

Requirements

  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence
  • Work various shift patterns, including weekend and evening work, and participate in a 24/7 standby rota
  • Work in all weather conditions
  • Work well as part of a team

  • Adhere to instructions, plan and organise resources, and make appropriate arrangements to ensure efficient work and training
  • Communicate with fellow workers, management, public officials, site managers and the general public to carry out work, handle routine complaints, and satisfy customers and the public
  • Take responsibility, lead and motivate others
  • Understand the gas supply network and the behaviour of various gases
  • Have an NCO Level 1 (or equivalent qualification) desirable; training will be offered within the first 3‑6 months
