The predicted salary is between 24600 - 25500 £ per year.

7.75 hours per day, 38.75 hours per week Monday to Friday between our core working hours 7.00am – 5.30pm. There is also an opportunity to work overtime as and when required.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for Support Drivers to support our operational teams in delivering a safe and efficient network.

As one of our Support Drivers, you will drive a 3.5 tonne drop side van to deliver and collect materials, signage and barriers to operational sites safely and efficiently supporting the teams to keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses across our network. Simply put, our operational teams couldn’t do what they do without you.

Most of your day will consist of driving, however there also physical demanding activities that are required such as backfilling excavation, setting out signs, cones, barriers and traffic lights (signing, lighting and guarding).

You’ll be relied on to:

  • Collect and deliver materials, plant & equipment as instructed for operational teams in a safe, efficient and timely manner
  • Work within Wales & West Utilities (WWU) policies, procedures and relevant legislation
  • Make sure that all daily/weekly vehicle inspections are undertaken and that all defects are reported and rectified within agreed timescales
  • Make sure vehicle condition is looked after, and present vehicle for maintenance when requested
  • Drive legally and within all road and site speed limits
  • Maintain good, honest and robust communication with coordinators and engineering staff at all times
  • Use approved equipment only, in the correct manner to ensure the safety and health of yourself and others
  • Be proactive with signing and guarding when on site – never leave gaps in barriers and report any defects to your First Line Manager

You’ll need to have:

  • A full valid driving licence
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Knowledge and understanding of DVSA regulations
  • The energy to work in all weather conditions
  • The willingness and commitment to undertaking the necessary training and upskilling
  • A flexible mindset to make sure we satisfy the needs of our customers and the general public and ensure both the safety of yourself and others affected by your work.

The following is also desirable:

  • C or CE licence
  • NRSWA Qualifications (excavation and reinstatement)
  • SHEA Gas
