We are looking for an experienced Occupational Health Technician to join our busy, forward‑thinking team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with drive and ambition, who is keen to contribute to a high‑performing team and support its continued growth. The successful candidate will be confident working both independently and collaboratively, with a strong track record of following processes, managing priorities effectively, and working to deadlines. You’ll be joining a team that values continuous improvement, personal development, and making the most of individual strengths. In this role, you will play a key part in promoting the health and wellbeing of our colleagues through regular visits to our depots.

You’ll be trusted to:

  • Undertake health spirometry, audiology, skin assessment and Hand Arm Vibration assessments under indirect supervision of an Occupational Health Nurse/Advisor
  • Undertake vision, colour vision, height, weight, blood pressure and pulse assessments
  • Undertake Display Screen Equipment, lone worker and night worker assessments
  • Assist the Health Surveillance Coordinator with booking unfilled appointments at short notice
  • Maintain health records in compliance with relevant data protection legislation and arrangement for maintaining medical confidentiality
  • Generate clear, concise and accurate outcome reports

You’ll need to have:

  • Previous experience in an Occupational Health Technician role
  • Level 3 Certificate for Occupational Health Technician or willingness to work towards this
  • Evidence of training in audiometry, spirometry and hand arm vibration syndrome (note: WWU will support any refresher training needed)
  • A willingness to travel is essential for this position
  • A full and valid UK driving licence
  • Overnight stays will be required, with up to four nights away at a time; support will be provided to help maintain a healthy work‑life balance
  • Excellent verbal and non‑verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate a customer focused approach
  • The ability to support wider team and company communications
  • The ability to assist individuals professionally and with sensitivity
