We are a gas distribution business that services the gas infrastructure across Wales and the south-west of England. We serve our customers and communities with safe, reliable, and affordable energy services whilst investing to create a sustainable future to deliver our carbon‑free vision for 2050.

We're looking for an Administration Assistant within our New Road Street Works Act (NRSWA) team to deliver street works compliance. You will provide a range of street works administrative services and support to the Connections & Operations Business.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Monitor, raise, issue and close Street Works Notices/Permits accurately and effectively in order to meet statutory and Highway Authority requirements.
  • Robustly manage noticing comments, directions and challenges received from Highway Authorities.
  • Provide a customer‑orientated NRSWA process, meeting standards of service and exceeding customer’s expectations.
  • Operate office systems, process documents, maintain accurate records and access information in support of departmental activities.
  • Provide admin support to the NRSWA team to enable Operations to undertake the annual Mains Replacement workload.
  • Stay up to date with relevant documents/work processes to achieve continuous business improvement.
  • Provide support to various activities within the NRSWA team, management, and customers.

You’ll need to have:

  • A good understanding of the statutory requirements under the NRSWA Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004 and the relevant street works codes of practice. Desirable not essential.
  • Ability to deal with a wide variety of tasks, whilst meeting strict deadlines is essential.
  • Excellent administrative, oral, written communication skills are required and a good general standard of education.
  • High standard of keyboard skills.
  • Competent in the use of all standard Microsoft and other standard desktop packages.
  • Effective and useful liaison with internal and external customers is essential.
  • Excellent accuracy, numerical and communication skills.
