A gas distribution business serving Wales and the south‑west of England seeks to contribute to a cost‑effective and customer‑focused reliable gas service by carrying out routine and non‑routine work across the district as an individual or as a team leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive instructions, plan and organise resources, and make arrangements to ensure work is carried out efficiently.
  • Undertake all aspects of maintenance, inspection and modification of plant and equipment associated with the pipeline gas transportation system and third‑party sites, including LTS & Below 7 bar pipelines, block valves, valves, nitrogen sleeves, etc., to maintain the system fit for purpose.
  • Provide appropriate training, advice, guidance and support to teams or individuals engaged in the operation and maintenance of the gas transportation system.
  • Work within and promote a philosophy of teamwork and development across all WWU activities to achieve business objectives and improve performance.
  • Ensure the health and safety of themselves and others is not adversely affected by their actions or omissions.
  • Work various shift patterns which include weekend and evening work, and participate in a 24/7 standby rota.

Qualifications:

  • Good practical skills.
  • Basic engineering principles and skills.
  • An understanding of on‑site health and safety and all aspects of gas safety.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence.
