The Opportunity
Tired of late nights and split shifts? We are looking for a Cook/Chef with a passion for fresh, home cooked food to join our friendly team at Llys Glan yr Afon Extra Care Scheme in Newtown. This role is perfect for someone with experience in care, extra care, or contract catering, using fresh ingredients, who enjoys producing nutritious meals in a calm, well organised kitchen. Part-time hours available, working 3 days per week (typically 8am - 4pm), with some flexibility available for the right candidate. Enjoy genuine work-life balance with every other weekend off while continuing to create great food. If you enjoy meaningful work, daytime hours, and being part of a supportive team that makes a real difference for residents, we would love to hear from you. The rate of pay for this role is £14.30 per hour.
What will you be doing?
- Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious meals and desserts each day
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, well-organised kitchen
- Support residents with dietary needs and preferences
- Work alongside the Lead Cook/Chef and occasionally step in to lead the kitchen
- Contribute to a warm, friendly environment centred on resident wellbeing
