Overview

As a Landlord Safety Assurance Officer, you will provide expert advice and carry out inspections and checks to ensure our safety systems meet legal standards and reflect best practice.

You will work closely with contractors, colleagues, and external partners to monitor compliance, investigate incidents and drive continuous improvement, helping us deliver safe and secure homes for everyone.

The role can be based at any of our offices in the South (Cardiff), North (Ewloe) or West (Newcastle Emlyn) regions.

We offer flexibility in choosing the most suitable base location while still ensuring strong links with the wider Landlord Safety Team.

Regular travel between offices may be required at times, but your main working location can be aligned to the area that works best for you.

  • What you will be doing
  • Ensure homes and services meet landlord health and safety standards.
  • Review policies, inspect properties and check reports to confirm compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify risks, support investigations and recommend improvements to keep residents safe.
  • Work closely with teams across the organisation, offering practical advice and helping improve how safety systems operate.
  • Review contractor competence, analyse performance data and respond to safety‑related enquiries.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, deliver briefings and training sessions on occasion.
  • Key qualifications
  • Solid understanding of landlord health and safety legislation, compliance standards and technical frameworks.
  • Experience in auditing, inspections and reviewing safety systems.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify risks and recommend practical improvements.
  • Confidence working with contractors and internal teams, providing clear advice and supporting informed decision‑making.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive problem‑solving approach.
  • Experience supporting incident investigations and reviewing contractor competence.
  • Level4 qualification in Property Compliance, Health and Safety, or a related discipline (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Level3 qualification or higher in Fire Safety is desirable.

Benefits and remuneration

Salary

Choice of Defined Contribution or Defined Benefit pension, both including 3× death in service life insurance cover.

25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 days with service. Ability to buy and sell up to 5 days (pro‑rata), as well as time off for volunteering, health screening and more.

9 bank holidays per annum, including an extra day at Christmas.
