You will support our two award-winning companies to make a real difference to people's lives, homes and communities across North Wales, specifically the Flintshire area.

Who are we looking for?

To succeed in this role, you must be genuinely passionate about making a difference to our residents and able to use your initiative to deliver top-quality customer service. You should have a positive and flexible attitude, with strong values that align well with WWH values. As a confident communicator, we expect you to put the customer at the centre of our decision-making process. This involves engaging in What Matters conversations with individual residents and participating in Have We Listened consultations with groups to make informed decisions.

We’re looking for someone with a strong customer-focused and empathetic approach, who can thrive both as part of a small, busy team and when working independently. You’ll need to be confident in organising your own workload and making sound decisions.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical knowledge, skills and personal qualities, including an in-depth understanding of property maintenance and the ability to diagnose and resolve common building defects/issues as well as complete property surveys. Just as important are excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, as this role involves working directly with residents in their homes in a front-line housing setting.

You should hold a Level 4 qualification within the Construction Industry, or be willing to work towards one. Strong communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to delivering a high-quality, friendly, and customer-oriented service. We also value self-awareness and a drive for continuous improvement, both for yourself and those around you.

Finally, we’re looking for someone with a proven track record in the construction industry, a housing association, or a similar role, with the skills and experience to meet the responsibilities outlined in the role profile.

What will you be doing?

As a Property & Estates Officer you will be working on a patch across Wrexham and Powys local authorities, engaging with residents, staff and contractors as well as managing properties. Every day is different and varied and can be challenging.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Identifying and resolving problems that residents have reported in their homes, including damp and mould inspections.
  • Undertaking stock condition surveys and assisting with future cyclical planned maintenance works for your patch.
  • Making sensible investment decisions about future works.
  • Undertaking fire risk assessments in blocks of flats (Training Provided).
  • Undertaking safety/Compliance checks and assessing risk.
  • Proactively leading, managing and developing the team of site staff in line with the WWHG way.
  • You will enable the delivery of services to our residents by providing effective support to all departments and front-line staff within the Group.

What’s in it for you?

In return for your hard work, commitment and innovation, you will enjoy an environment focused on more than just competitive pay. You’ll enjoy:

  • Salary £39,341 - £43,821 per annum.
  • Choice of Defined Contribution or Defined Benefit pension, both including 3x death in service life insurance cover.
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 days with service the ability to buy and sell up to 5 days (pro rata), as well as, time off for volunteering, health screening and more.
  • 9 Bank Holidays per annum, including an extra day at Christmas!
  • Opportunities to develop and grow.
  • Regular feedback, training and support from your manager and team.
  • Comprehensive support in case of sickness with a generous sick pay scheme, critical illness cover and support through an employee assistance and counselling service and a cash plan benefit.

Where is the role based?

You will be patch based (Denbighshire/Flintshire) but work from our office based in Ewloe, North Wales when required.
