Hours: Full-time, including out-of-hours and weekend work for duty rota and police station representation (We would consider part time applicants too).

Waldrons Solicitors is looking for a dedicated and skilled Criminal Lawyer to join our Dudley office. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor who can hit the ground running and make immediate contribution, or someone who is almost qualified, to join our Duty Solicitor Rota. If you're newly qualified or nearly qualified and have a passion for criminal law, we would be happy to offer training and mentorship to help you succeed in the role.

About the Role:

  • Handle a diverse and challenging caseload of criminal defence matters.
  • Represent clients at police stations and magistrates' courts.
  • Provide expert legal representation in court, including advocacy for bail applications, case management hearings, and trials.
  • Participate in the Duty Solicitor Rota, including out-of-hours and weekend work.
  • Provide clients with high-quality legal advice and support throughout their cases.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Is ideally a qualified solicitor with Duty Solicitor accreditation, or nearly qualified with experience in this sector and keen to gain this accreditation.
  • Has experience (or is eager to gain experience) in police station representation and court advocacy.
  • Has strong litigation skills and is confident advocating in court.
  • Can work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Is passionate about delivering excellent client care and support.
