Waldrons Solicitors are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Cashier to join our Accounts team. This role offers the opportunity to play an important part in the smooth running of the firm's financial operations. Working closely with the Accounts Manager, another Legal Cashier and the wider Accounts team, you will ensure that client and office transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing client and office receipts and payments via CHAPS, Faster Payments, BACS, cheques and card payments in accordance with the SRA Accounts Rules
- Processing client to office and client to client transfers
- Completing daily bank reconciliations
- Posting client invoices to client ledgers
- Processing direct debit and standing order payments
- Inputting and paying supplier invoices
- Supporting the wider Accounts team with general finance duties
- Assisting with administrative tasks within the Accounts department
About You
Ideally you will have previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm and will be confident handling financial transactions in line with regulatory requirements. You will also have:
- Good working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules
- Experience using legal accounts or finance systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- AAT Level 1 or higher (Desirable)
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and accounting software
