Do you have experience of developing and implementing policies and procedures in line with OfS regulations and institutional objectives? Have you got proven ability to manage student services operations in a complex, multi-modal environment? Then apply for our Head of Student Engagement role, based in our London office.
Role Overview: The Head of Student Engagement will lead and manage the Student Services department, ensuring high-quality support for all students, including a vibrant international postgraduate community and online learners. You will directly lead our student engagement, wellbeing, careers, student voice, frontline support and engagement support functions, ensuring compliance with policy and the OfS regulatory environment. You will be accountable for developing and implementing processes that enhance the student journey and support a seamless experience, aligned with the value of our offer to students, ultimately delivering student satisfaction and strong graduate outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures in line with OfS regulations and institutional objectives.
- Manage and support a diverse student services team, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
- Oversee onboarding and ongoing support for online students, ensuring equitable access to services and resources and development of services to scale.
- Lead initiatives for student engagement, wellbeing, careers, and student voice.
- Ensure effective processes for reasonable adjustments, extenuating circumstances, and access and participation.
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation for compliance and audits.
- Build and sustain a vibrant international postgraduate community.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Senior level leadership experience in higher education.
- Degree or equivalent experience in student services, education, or related field.
- In-depth understanding of OfS regulatory environment and higher education policy.
- Proven ability to manage student services operations in a complex, multi-modal environment.
- Experience supporting online learners and international student communities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to design and implement processes for student engagement, wellbeing, and academic support.
- Experience in a PE-backed, private, or non-traditional higher education provider is desirable.
- Experience in a leadership role within the online programme management industry is desirable.
