An opportunity exists for a Senior Information Governance Officer to work within the Corporate Information Governance. The post will play a key role within the team ensuring the Council's compliance with the required standards for information governance, including relevant legislation and policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing advice and guidance to all Council staff in relation to Information Governance issues and compliance.
  • Co‑ordinating the Council's response to Freedom of Information Requests, liaising with all Council service areas.
  • Drafting high quality, timely responses to such requests.
  • Advising and processing Data Subject Access Requests.

Requirements:

  • Detailed knowledge of work relating to Freedom of Information, Data Protection, Records Management, data security and information governance practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, a strong customer focus, and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
