An opportunity exists for an Information Governance Officer to work within the Corporate Information Governance Team. The post will play a key role within the team to ensure the Council\’s compliance with the required standards for information governance, including relevant legislation and policy.

Knowledge of work relating to Freedom of Information, Data Protection, Records Management, data security and information governance practices is essential.

The post holder will possess excellent communication skills, a strong customer focus, the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. The ability to work effectively as part of a team is essential.

The work involves retrieving information and preparing it under Data Subject Access Requests procedures for release in line with Data Protection legislation and supporting the release of information for Freedom of Information requests.

You will also ensure records in the archives are kept in a secure manner and in compliance with the legislative requirements for the retention and destruction of records.
