Overview

We are looking for two dynamic and experienced people to join our Early Intervention and Prevention leadership team. The purpose of this role is to provide management and coordination to a team of practitioners delivering a high-quality early intervention and prevention offer across Wakefield district with a clear focus on improving outcomes for children and their families. To do this, you will be responsible for coordinating an enhanced youth engagement offer that identifies children at risk of adverse outcomes and connects them with local, sustained support from the early help system.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operational delivery of high-quality services for children and young people aged 11–25, ensuring services are delivered in compliance with relevant legislation, local and national policy, and guidance, achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people in the district.
  • Provide effective management and coordination, instilling a clear sense of purpose, priority, and direction.
  • Collaborate with schools and education providers to promote school attendance and inclusive approaches that support children’s academic achievement and successful transition to adulthood.
  • Contribute to and develop partnership approaches that prevent adverse outcomes for children, such as crime, exploitation, or anti-social behaviour.
  • Develop and sustain a positive culture informed by robust performance and assurance systems that demonstrate the quality and impact of the service.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to degree level in a related field or holding a professional qualification recognised within youth work, youth justice, or targeted youth support, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Evidence of maintaining skill and knowledge in the professional field through post-qualifying training or other opportunities.
  • Experience guiding, advising, and supervising staff, students/trainees in direct work and supporting their professional development.
  • Experience of performance management, using data as an indicator to drive high-quality services and raise standards.
