We are looking for friendly, reliable and customer‑focused people to join Wakefield Council’s Museums & Castles team on a casual basis. As a Casual Visitor Experience Assistant with Catering, you will help us deliver a warm, welcoming and enjoyable experience for visitors, supporting café and retail services at Pontefract Castle, alongside wider visitor activity across our museum and castle sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming visitors
  • Serving café customers
  • Providing general visitor information
  • Assisting with workshops and events
  • Supporting essential health and safety tasks

This role is ideal for people who enjoy working with the public and can work confidently in a busy, public‑facing environment. Food Hygiene training will be provided, and full guidance will be given to help you succeed in the role.
