We are seeking two Teachers in Charge to lead either a Primary SEND Unit or a Primary/Secondary Inclusion Resource Provision. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in supporting pupils with additional needs across our school settings. Visits to our school sites are warmly welcomed. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and further develop an Inclusion Resource Provision or SEND Unit for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
- Provide high-quality, personalised teaching for pupils with complex SEND, including SEMH, ASD and SLCN.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate a differentiated curriculum that meets individual needs and promotes positive outcomes.
- Coordinate EHCP processes, including Annual Reviews, pupil profiles, IEPs and reports.
- Lead and manage specialist support staff, promoting effective deployment, professional development and wellbeing.
- Undertake performance management, appraisals and supervision in line with local authority procedures.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to pupil support.
- Develop effective working relationships with WISENDSS and contribute to wider SEND service development.
- Ensure safeguarding, inclusion and equal opportunities are embedded across all aspects of the provision.
- Manage resources and budgets to support high-quality provision.
- Contribute to service meetings, training and continuous improvement activity across the SEND service.

Essential requirements
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of a wide range of SEND and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Up-to-date knowledge of curriculum requirements relevant to the age range and designation of the provision.
- Secure knowledge of SEMH, ASD, SLCN and complex needs and their impact on learning.
- Understanding of current SEND legislation, EHCP processes, safeguarding and Ofsted frameworks.
- Effective use of ICT to support teaching, learning and administration.
Experience
- Proven track record of good or outstanding classroom practice.
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND, including those with EHCPs.
- Experience of setting, reviewing and monitoring individual targets.
- Experience working with and coordinating support staff.
- Experience of working with parents/carers and external agencies to support pupil outcomes.
Skills and competencies
