Are you passionate about making a difference to our citizens and the district that they reside in? Then, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team. We are looking for an experienced Senior Care Assistant as part of our Dovecote Lodge Care Team.
What will be expected from me?
The purpose of this role is to support our Rehab and Recovery Unit and provide person‑centred care and support for our residents.
What I might be doing?
- You will work within the Rehab and Recovery Unit and provide person‑centred care and support for the residents within this unit.
- You will communicate the needs of service users to management and maintain good relations between service users, staff, and visitors to the unit.
- You will manage and safely administer service users’ medications.
- You will enable the service users in the unit to maintain or regain their independence, individuality, and dignity.
- You will take lead of your shift and direct the team in the day to day duties of the service.
Essential requirements:
- NVQ 2 in Social Care/ NVQ 3 in Social Care or working towards.
- An understanding of Safe manual handling techniques.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults.
- A minimum of two years’ experience of working with older adults and an understanding of their differing complex care needs.
