About the Role
You will work in the award-winning business friendly commercial team, based within Environmental Health, as part of a ‘one point of contact service’ for Primary Authority partnerships which includes Trading Standards regulatory matters. Forming part of an ambitious, innovative team who are friendly, collaborative and have a shared vision to “be the go-to Council for business advice”. We make a meaningful difference supporting businesses and providing exceptional customer service.
What will be expected from me?
- Site visits to business PA partners at premises across the UK.
- Support our Primary Authority (PA) business partners using your regulatory compliance experience and research skills to advise on food hygiene and/or food standards and/or health & safety matters.
- Provide accurate technical and legal assistance, advice and information to PA partners, including formal PA Advice and the creation of inspection plans, as appropriate.
- Act as Peer Reviewer to other PA accounts managed by colleagues.
- Act as a single point of contact between enforcing authorities and business partners and assist LA regulators and businesses in PA partners’ compliance matters.
- Be involved in project work to support innovation in the business, offering solutions to diverse and complex issues.
- Identify opportunities to extend and develop new business partnerships, which fit with our team objectives of being business minded and socially responsible, as well as aligning to your strengths and interests.
Essential requirements
- Accredited BSc degree or MSc in Environmental Health or other equivalent relevant professional qualifications (such as the Higher Certificate in Food Control or Level 6 Trading Standards Advanced Practitioner (TSAP)).
- Extensive on-the-job regulatory experience and competence.
- Full UK Category B Driving Licence for cars / light vans.
