Pinderfields Hospital Pupil Referral Unit, Forest Wood, Painthorpe Lane WF4 3HW is seeking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant to join the existing team from September 2025. The role involves working with young children aged 4-7 with complex special educational needs, particularly autism.

The successful candidate will be committed to early intervention and maximising individual potential. This position requires someone with an outgoing personality, a positive outlook on life, and a willingness to undertake a range of tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering an appropriate and outstanding curriculum.
  • Assisting young children aged 4-7 years old to the end of KS1, who have complex special educational and health needs, both with class-based activities and over lunchtime.
  • Maintaining a positive approach when faced with challenges.
  • Supporting assessment within the provision.
  • Participating as a team member in the operation, promotion, evaluation, and development of the Forest Wood Assessment Centres.
  • Ensuring the safety and welfare of all pupils.
