Are you flexible, looking for a challenge and a role where no two days are the same? Then this is the role for you! We are looking for an experienced administrator to work flexibly within our Children and Young People’s Directorate to support Senior Managers.

Excellent customer care and communication skills are essential along with the ability to work as part of a team or independently using your own initiative. The successful candidate will provide a secretarial and administrative support function to Senior Managers including:

  • Diary management
  • Dealing with highly confidential information and tasks on their behalf
  • Updating children’s files on the electronic social care records system
  • Arranging and taking minutes at a variety of meetings including multi-agency meetings
  • Dealing with telephone calls
  • Preparing agendas
  • Data inputting
  • Collating and producing statistical information and reports

It is essential that you are an experienced and confident minute taker and are able to use a laptop to take minutes at multi-agency meetings. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential as many tasks are required to be completed within statutory timescales.

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you are fully aware of all aspects of data protection and confidentiality as you will be working in an environment dealing with extremely sensitive and emotive information on a daily basis including information relating to the abuse and injuries to children and young people.

Core office hours are 8.30-17.00 Monday to Thursday and 8.30-16.30 on Friday. The post is part of the flexi time scheme and currently operates with a mix of office and home working. A standard DBS check and clearance will be required for the post.
