An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Administrator within Children and Young People’s Services working within the busy Safeguarding and Review Unit. The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and can work independently and proactively as well as part of a team to provide a high level of efficient administration support to the team manager and oversee and manage a team of administration staff.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring priorities and the needs of the service are met in providing a confidential and reliable administration and business support service. Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills are essential along with the ability to effectively manage a team. Ability to manage complex diaries coupled with excellent customer care and communication skills are essential along with the ability to work calmly under pressure.

This is a wide and varied role where no two days are the same and the post holder will be expected to be able to react and respond to urgent requests. It is essential that you are an experienced and confident minute taker and are able to use a laptop to take minutes at meetings, including Child Protection Conferences. Accuracy and attention to detail is also essential in this role and the position requires working to tight deadlines as well as closely liaising with other departments across the Council. The ability to collate and track data is essential to review performance and establish robust data analysis.

Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that you are fully aware of all aspects of data protection and confidentiality as you will be working in an environment dealing with extremely sensitive and emotive information on a daily basis including information relating to the abuse and injuries to children and young people.

Core office hours are 8.30 -17.00 Monday to Thursday and 8.30-16.30 on a Friday.
