We are looking for an experienced administrator to work within the Children and Young Peoples directorate in the Wakefield Families Together Castleford and Pontefract Cluster based at The Airedale Centre, Castleford.

Excellent customer care and communication skills are essential along with the ability to work as part of a team or independently using your own initiative. Duties include – minute taking at various multi‑agency meetings, reception duties, dealing with telephone calls from members of the public and internal colleagues, room bookings, financial tasks and general administrative tasks to support our senior managers and social work teams and other professionals, which includes regularly updating our social care recording system.

Accuracy and attention to detail is essential as many tasks are required to be completed within statutory timescales.

Due to the nature of these roles, it is essential that you are fully aware of all aspects of data protection and confidentiality as you will be working in an environment dealing with extremely sensitive and emotive information on a daily basis including information relating to the abuse and injuries to children and young people.

Core office hours are 8:30 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 8:30 – 16:30 on a Friday. This post is part of the flexi‑time scheme.

Suitable applicants will be invited to an assessment centre and interview which will involve some practical admin/IT tests and an interview.

A standard DBS check and clearance will be required for the posts.
