About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists in the Council’s Environmental Services for a Pesticides Operative working from our Depot at Monckton Road, Wakefield.

Key Responsibilities

  • The post holder will be part of a team to deliver a high quality citizen focused service within a neighbourhood in Wakefield districts, which delivers safer and stronger communities by improving environmental quality and increasing the sense of community pride in neighbourhoods.
  • You will be working within recognised safe systems and in accordance with all aspects of health and safety legislation.
  • To undertake street cleansing and weed activities by use of quad weed spraying and hand holed spraying equipment, in a flexible manner, providing a citizen focused service which delivers safer and stronger communities by improving environmental quality and increasing the sense of community pride in neighbourhoods.

What will be expected from me?

  • To be an ambassador for the Council when dealing with all stakeholders, customers and have excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
  • To deal with conflict situations.
  • To be self‑motivated and can motivate others.
  • To have a good understanding of Health.
