The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

Join the Wakefield Council, Passenger Transport team as a Driver Attendant providing a transport service for our most vulnerable citizens to ensure they can access the services they require, when they require them and in a safe and comfortable way whilst on transport to and from their homes.

You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of our clients in particular vulnerable children.

You must also possess a caring, understanding and helpful attitude towards other vulnerable service users and manage their needs whilst using the services such as the elderly and adults with disabilities.

The ability to move and assist people in wheelchairs (manual/motorized), move small goods and school meals containers is also part of the duties.

You will have the ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with service users, parents and carers and understand the need for confidentiality, sensitivity and safeguarding.

The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to working hours and the ability to work to set guidelines.

A category D1 (9-16 seat minibus) driving licence is essential.

Experience of operating adapted vehicles would be desirable.

Candidates will be required to pass a MIDAS scheme minibus driving assessment.

The post is currently based in Normanton Depot Wakefield at the Newton Bar Depot but there is a pending move to Featherstone.
