Casual Fitness Consultant at Wakefield Council
We are recruiting a hardworking Fitness Consultant to join Wakefield Council on a casual basis. Casual staff help cover holidays and sickness and can pick up hours around other commitments. This opportunity is available across all Wakefield Council’s Leisure facilities.
The role involves delivering our customer journey, including inductions, personal fitness programmes, and supporting service users with their health and wellbeing goals. Additional tasks include maintenance, cleaning, and ensuring health and safety standards are met within the gym environment. Supervision of the fitness suites is essential to ensure exercises are performed safely and effectively.
Experience and qualifications in group exercise classes are beneficial, as delivery across our programme is required. Classes include Zumba, aqua classes, Yoga, Pilates, Les Mills (Body Pump, Body Combat), HIIT, studio cycling, circuit, or boxing-based classes.
Candidates must have excellent customer service skills, engage with a diverse range of customers, and actively promote services like the Aspire membership scheme. We seek candidates with the right personal skills, enthusiasm, and motivation to excel.
You should be well-organized, adaptable, and able to think quickly while delivering outstanding service. A passion for health and fitness and good communication skills are essential.
Applicants must hold a minimum of a Level 2 Gym/Fitness Instructor qualification endorsed by governing bodies such as REPS or CIMSPA.
