Overview

Join us in shaping the future of mental health services in Wakefield. We\’re seeking a Team Manager to enhance our community mental health social care offer within the integrated working-age adults mental health services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage social care employees within working age adult mental health teams based across the district, in partnership with a Trust team manager.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day delivery, management of resources, and achievement of service objectives and priorities.
  • Provide leadership, effective management, and support to social care staff within a specialised mental health service.
  • Allocate work to staff according to priorities and manage unallocated work; perform quality control and quality assurance.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints; monitor devolved budgets; ensure statutory requirements, council and directorate policies are followed.
  • Promote equal opportunities and diversity within the service.
  • Collaborate with Service Managers and other managers in the council and SWYPFT to develop the service and meet objectives and targets.
  • Work collaboratively with other team managers to be collectively responsible for the work and objectives of the service area and cover for colleagues when necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven experience in the delivery of services within adult social care.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with people at all levels.
  • Professional expertise in relevant legislation, national policy, best practice developments, and performance standards.
  • Experience meeting the statutory responsibilities of the council.
