THE ROLE
We are looking for positive and engaging individuals to join the Immersive Performance team to work in a fantastic immersive environment. The team is critical to bring the world of Meridia to life, provide narrative context and interact with visitors. As part of the team you will help us to engage with the public and deliver the story of Wake The Tiger to a wide audience, animating the space, entertaining and inspiring our visitors. Knowledge of the narrative and art is an essential element of the job as well as having an awareness of safety procedures. Training will be provided to ensure all staff have the information they need to give every visitor the perfect experience. This role will also require you to enhance the experience for special events, over and above general admission. Examples include, but are not limited to, After Hours adult evenings, private hire, birthday parties and school bookings. The successful candidate will need to be flexible, take direction and understand the needs of our visitors to deliver the creative vision of Wake The Tiger.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Structured improvised interactions with our diverse range of visitors
- Comfortable with wearing costume (to be provided)
- Engaging with the public in character at a level that is appropriate to a range of visitors
- Effective communication with the Creative department as well as the Operations department day to day
- Vigilance against intentional damage or theft to any part of the attraction
- Following set routes within a specific time period
- Assisting the Duty Manager in carrying out emergency evacuations as necessary
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Essential
- Energy, enthusiasm, and great customer service
- Be comfortable wearing a costume whilst interacting with guests
- Unflappable, flexible and adaptable to changes and feedback
- Excellent time management skills
- Fantastic communication skills
- Ability to stay in character and comfortable being on your feet for long periods of time
- Willingness to work weekends, evenings and public holidays
Desirable
- First aid trained
- Knowledge of BSL
- An understanding of other languages
- Experience working with a range of people including children, elderly and those with additional needs
- Drama/acting training
- Experience of working on events or venue hire bookings
